The Ontario Securities Commission, or OSC, issued monetary penalties against Bybit and Kucoin, claiming violations of securities legal guidelines and working unregistered crypto asset buying and selling platforms.
In a Wednesday announcement, the Ontario regulator stated it had obtained orders fining Kucoin greater than $1.6 million and banning the trade from collaborating within the province’s capital markets. In a separate choice, the OSC introduced that Bybit had disgorged roughly $2.4 million and paid the regulator $7,724 as a part of the prices of its investigation.
