
The hacker liable for the $196 million assault on Euler Finance has begun shifting funds into crypto mixer Tornado Cash, solely hours after a $1 million bounty was launched to uncover the hackerâs id.
Blockchain analytics agency PeckShield tweeted on March 16 that the exploiter behind the flash mortgage assault on the Ethereum noncustodial lending protocol was âon the move.â
The exploiter transferred 1,000 Ether (ETH), roughly $1.65 million, by way of sanctioned crypto mixer Tornado Cash.

It comes solely hours after Euler Labs tweeted that it was launching a $1 million reward for data main âto the Euler protocol attackerâs arrest and the return of all funds.â
Just a day earlier, Euler despatched an on-chain message to the exploiterâs handle, warning it could launch a bounty âthat leads to your arrest and the return of all fundsâ if 90% wasnât returned inside 24 hours.
The motion of the funds to the crypto mixer may point out that the hacker shouldn’t be being swayed by Eulerâs amnesty supply.Â
Peckshield famous that round 100 ETH, value $165,202 on the time of writing, was despatched to a pockets handle that’s doubtless owned by one of many victims. An on-chain message despatched by the pockets handle had earlier pleaded for the attacker for the return of their âlife savings.â

This led to a slew of different victims sending messages to the handle in hopes of additionally getting their funds returned.

One message said they âare twenty-six families from jobless rural areas,â who misplaced âa million USDT in total,â including their share of funds within the protocol was the âlife-savings from our past decades of work in factories.â
Another obvious sufferer messaged the attacker congratulating them on the âbig winâ and mentioned they invested funds into Euler they âdesperately neededâ for a home.
âMy wife is going to kill me if we canât afford our house […] Is there anyway [sic] you can help me? I have no idea what to tell my wife,â they wrote.
According to on-chain knowledge, the $196 million stolen from Euler consisted of Dai (DAI), USD Coin (USDC), staked ETH and wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC).
