For CoinDesk’s Sin Week, we’ll be exploring the conflict of old-world finance and crypto, how Web3 may also help (or not assist) illicit or at the least pariah industries like weed, porn, weapons and playing. In none of those circumstances are we suggesting that it is best to participate your self. There are salubrious causes to abstain from medication or playing. But we do imagine that it needs to be as much as the folks to resolve what vices are permissible (not a distant central authorities and definitely not unelected executives at Mastercard). And we, as a society, shouldn’t at all times be so sure or adamant about the place the moral strains needs to be. Norms change and our monetary system needs to be open to that change.
